The territory where I service is from Desbarats to Massey along the North Channel of Lake Huron. The Trans Canada Highway 17 passes through 9 towns, Serpent River, Spragge, Spanish, Algoma Mills, Blind River, Iron Bridge, Thessalon, Bruce Mines and even north to Elliot Lake up Hwy 108. You will find the people friendly and the towns quoint. Hundreds of crystal clear in-land lakes dot the landscape. Desbarats Lake, Rock Lake, Gordon Lake, Ottertail Lake, Big Basswood Lake, Little Basswood Lake, Bright Lake, Red Rock Lake, Clear Lake, Dean Lake, Axe Lake, Cumming's Lake, Tunnel Lake, Chiblow Lake, Lake Lauzon, Matinenda Lake, Lake Duborne, Endikai Lake, Smith Lake, Dunlop Lake, Quirke Lake, and Dean Lake are some of the more popular Lakes. Rivers make up an important part of the area's history. The Mississagi R. is the longest in Ontario. Blind R., Serpent R., Little White R.
Inbetween these lakes, fertile farmlands with rolling hills are abundant. Farms seem to be in demand as well as the waterfront. Our properties are still relatively inexpensive to other Ontario areas. The lakes have cottages and some vacant lots but most of the land is Crown Land or Native Reserve so there is exceptional wilderness for hunting, fishing, boating, kayaking, and swimming. There are miles wilderness trails for ATVing, snowmachine and and hiking. Lake Huron has many islands that make up the North Channel. Tourists call this the best fresh water fishing and sailing in the world. The largest island is Manitoulin but the Benjamin and Turnbull form part of the Whalesback Channel with unmatched beauty. Most of the towns have deep water harbors for easy access. We can be proud of our two 18 hole golf courses, Huron Pines and Stone Ridge. The 9 hole course Livingston Creek is challenging and beautiful too. Of course we all love our hockey!
This North Woods has wilderness for abundant wild life, stunning landscapes, amazing stary nights with northern lights on occasion. Please contact me if you are looking for property or selling property in this beautiful area.
